Remembering and celebrating the men and women who have served our country and made it great happens a few times in summer. You can add a some fun to your celebrations with these DIY Patriotic Star wands. This is an easy craft for the kids to help make. They will enjoy cheering and waving their wand at the parade or fireworks show. You can also use them as decorations in your Americana themed home decor.

Here’s what you’ll need:
Print out the Patriotic Stars Template onto card stock paper and then cut out each star.
Decide which colors of paper you would like to use for the stars. Using the cut-out stars as your stencil, trace around the large star on the red, white or blue paper. Next trace the medium star and finally trace the small star. Cut out all stars.
Using the double sided adhesive assemble the stars. Adhere a medium star to the large star and then adhere a small star to the medium star.
After the stars are assembled you can add glitter glue to the small stars for some added sparkle. Let dry completely.
Each star will need 3 patriotic ribbons of your choice. Cut ribbons into 9-10 inch strips.
Now you can begin attaching the ribbons to each star. Use a glue dot on each ribbon to secure the ribbon to the back of the star. Then place the bamboo skewer on top of the ribbons and secure with clear tape.
These Patriotic Star Wands are pretty and you can use them for your 4th of July holiday home decor. I added some red glass beads to a mason jar to make a patriotic arrangement for my kitchen table. Your kids will have fun using these star wands to wave at a parade (be sure to cut off the skewer tip before giving them to the kiddos! 😉 ).
