When I was a newly wed having a meal plan was a box of Hamburger Helper or going out to a restaurant. Then children entered the picture and saving money was a high priority along with serving healthy meals.

I started asking friends and family about how they planned out their dinners or if they even had a plan. Creating a meal plan that would work with my growing family and limited time was essential to my sanity!

3 Ways You Can Save Your Sanity With A Meal Plan, meal planning, menu plan, dinner plan,

When it comes to getting meals on the table, can you relate to:

  • scrambling to make something decent out of what’s in your fridge
  • resorting to compromise or convenience foods because you’re short on time
  • battling weight gain and feeling discouraged that the family isn’t eating better
  • wasting money on restaurants, food that goes bad, and too many last-minute grocery runs
  • and feeling like cooking is a burden instead of a joy?

I totally get it, because I’ve struggled with those very same things. Here’s how having a meal plan saved my sanity and will save yours too!

Sanity Saver #1

Knowing what’s for dinner removes a burden off your shoulders!

Do your kids start asking you what’s for dinner before lunch is even over? Mine do and it’s so nice to have an answer for them. No more pressure to quickly figure out what you can make for dinner that night with the grocery’s in the fridge. You have a plan and the pressure is off!

Sanity Saver #2

Knowing you’re not going over in the grocery budget!

When you don’t have a meal plan, more often than not you make a quick last minute run to the grocery store. Going to the store on a “What’s for dinner mission” can easily turn into overspending. Or you may decide to go the nearest drive-thru or restaurant. Both options have you spending more money than you would like.

Meal planning helps save your grocery budget! Knowing what recipes you will be serving your family makes grocery shopping streamlined. You are going to the store with a prepared grocery list and are buying what you need to feed your family. No more buying what looks good for dinner.

Sanity Saver #3

Knowing that your time is not being wasted!

Having a meal plan means you are not making last minute stops to the grocery store. No more afternoons spent on Pinterest looking for a recipe for dinner. Sitting in the drive-thru is a thing of the past.

Your time is spent enjoying the meal you made with your family!

This year save your sanity and take control of what your family is eating once and for all.

Here’s the solution you’ve been waiting for…

It’s so simple, but they look forward to it each year.
A countdown to #valentinesday 💕

It started with post it notes and then I wanted to make it cute and easier to execute. So I came up with 14 fun prompts to help me express my love for each kiddo.

Every night leading up to Valentine’s Day I tape a heart to their bedroom door. But you could put them in a lunchbox, car or bathroom mirror!

🍎This weekend we went to one of my favorite pla 🍎This weekend we went to one of my favorite places to conclude my birthday celebrations. @apple_annies is such a fun family activity and everyone always finds their perfect pumpkin.
.
Honestly, we debated going this year as the cost of gas is higher right now. It's a 2 hour drive for us. But my hubby knows how much I enjoy going. It's my little taste of fall in the desert.
.
So we made it happen by cutting out a few things like:
▪️packing our own lunches & snacks
▪️walking instead of taking the tractor ride
▪️only buying one pumpkin each
▪️taking a family picture in the apple orchard, but not picking apples
.
Even though we didn't do "all the things" at the orchard this time we made the best memories. It's about having fun with those we love and care about, no matter how small or simple.
