It’s the eve of another birthday. Do you have plans to celebrate your birthday? I’m sharing my Top 5 ways I like to celebrate my birthday month.

Celebrate your birthday, how to celebrate your birthday, how to make your birthday special, birthday celebration ideas, #celebrateyourbirthday #birthdayideas #birthdaycelebrations

As moms we make our kids birthdays pretty special. Throwing them a party or cooking them a requested meal. Moms take time to make their kids and family feel loved and important on their birthday.

What about you? Do you bake yourself a favorite treat or throw yourself a party?

I think as moms it can be hard for us to pause and celebrate our life. But birthdays are the perfect day to do just that. It’s one day every year we can do what we want for ourselves and not feel guilty about being a little selfish.

I have a list of things I always do for myself during my birthday month and I don’t feel guilty about it!

It’s OK to celebrate myself for one day. God made me and He’s happy I’m alive and on planet earth so I can be happy about me too. 😉

There may be affiliate links in this post! By clicking on them, or purchasing recommended items I may receive a small compensation, at no cost to you! However, I only recommend products I absolutely love and use in my own home or would love to use! Thank you for supporting Miss Sue Living when you shop! See my disclosure policy for more info!

Buy Yourself A Gift

Jeans! I love wearing jeans. As a gift to myself, each year I buy a good pair of new jeans. Not a $20 pair from Target, but a great pair from Buckle that will last for a whole year.

Shopping at Buckle is a once a year excursion. They really treat you like royalty by helping you find the perfect pair of jeans or outfit.

If you can’t make it into a Buckle store check out my favorite jean brands below.

Do you have a favorite store you like to go clothes shopping at? Check to see if your favorite store offers birthday rewards or cash to spend!

Go Shopping By Yourself

During my birthday month I arrange a day to go shopping at all my favorite stores. I bring along all my birthday store rewards and try to get a great deal or even free products!

Stores I like to visit on my birthday shopping day:

  • Target
  • Marshalls
  • Michael’s
  • Nordstrom Rack
  • Forever 21
  • Home Goods

When was the last time you went shopping alone and for yourself? Going shopping and not feeling rushed. Pick a day and take time to window shop and browse your favorite store without worrying about the kiddos.

Dinner With Friends Or Family

No cooking allowed on my birthday!  For my birthday I get to choose the restaurant we eat at. And you may be surprised to know the restaurant I choose to patron for my birthday meal is the local Golden Coral Buffet. It’s nothing fancy or extravagant, but it’s a favorite restaurant from my childhood. So once a year my family tags along for a full buffet meal.

My top two favorite items are the crab salad and fried okra. Neither of these items are healthy choices but when I’m only eating it once a year I splurge 😉

Also it’s an annual tradition to enjoy a dinner out with my girlfriends. We love to help one another celebrate our birthdays by going out for the evening.

Make sure to plan yourself a birthday dinner. Go out to a favorite restaurant or request your family to cook your favorite meal.  Don’t be afraid to request a birthday dinner from family or friends. It’s always fun for others to help you celebrate.

An Empty House Or Take a Nap

Birthday naps are the best! I’m not a nap girl but on my birthday I like to take a short nap.

Another thing I enjoy is being in my home alone. As a homeschooling, stay at home Mom I’m never in my home alone. It’s nice to relax in my space in the quiet.

These are only my top 5 ways I celebrate my birthday month. There are so many more ways that you can celebrate your birthday.

I’ve included a printable checklist to help you plan your birthday month. It includes space to write your birthday wish list, birthday dinner choice, birthday rewards to collect and a list of ideas to celebrate your day!

Don’t let another birthday go by without taking time to celebrate your life. Make a plan to celebrate your birthday all month long. You’re pretty special!

🍎This weekend we went to one of my favorite pla 🍎This weekend we went to one of my favorite places to conclude my birthday celebrations. @apple_annies is such a fun family activity and everyone always finds their perfect pumpkin.
.
Honestly, we debated going this year as the cost of gas is higher right now. It's a 2 hour drive for us. But my hubby knows how much I enjoy going. It's my little taste of fall in the desert.
.
So we made it happen by cutting out a few things like:
▪️packing our own lunches & snacks
▪️walking instead of taking the tractor ride
▪️only buying one pumpkin each
▪️taking a family picture in the apple orchard, but not picking apples
.
Even though we didn't do "all the things" at the orchard this time we made the best memories. It's about having fun with those we love and care about, no matter how small or simple.
