Christmas is fast approaching and that has me thinking about some great gifts to give my preschooler. I also have to think about birthday gifts as she celebrates turning 4 years old on November 27th! The teacher in me wants some of her gifts to be both fun and educational. After doing some research online, I’ve found the top 10 favorite gifts to give my preschooler and I think your preschooler will love them, too! Most of these gift ideas we own and others I will put on my preschooler’s birthday and Christmas wish list.

Lego Duplos are the perfect building blocks for active imaginations. They are twice the size as regular Lego bricks which make them perfect for small hands. Having her own Lego Duplo set also keeps my preschooler happy playing while her older siblings are building with regular Legos.
There are so many options for Lego Duplo sets. You can pick a favorite Disney character set, Marvel Comic set or an All-in-One Box set.

Imaginative and Dress-up play is an everyday activity for my preschooler. She has lots of fun pretending to be a veterinarian or doctor with her Doc McStuffins doctor kit.

Melissa and Doug toys are a favorite in our home! Pretending to be a chef is lots of fun with the Cutting Food Set and she can even be a master baker with the Slice and Bake Wooden Cookie Play Food Set. Of course my little chef does all of her cooking and baking in her play kitchen. Our Little Tikes play kitchen was a gift for my oldest daughter (who is now 10 years old) and is no longer available but I think these two play kitchens look super fun and both have 4 star ratings on Amazon.

Play-Doh is a “toy” that I love just as much as my kids do. We like to make all kinds of food creations and set up a restaurant or bakery shop. I know Play-Doh can be a little messy but it’s worth the mess for an hour of imaginative play!
Cash Register – Setting up a pretend store or bakery is a great way to teach your preschooler about counting and money. After my daughter gets done making all her Play-Doh bakery treats she sets out the cash register so mommy and her siblings can come shop her store. Her brother and sister still like to join in the fun, too by selling the yummy creations.

Green Kid Crafts – This is a fun creative and eco-friendly craft and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) themed box subscription program. You can also order single boxes once you sign up. Last year my kids had fun creating from the Thanksgiving Box and we have also gotten an Insect Box (not currently offered). This is a great gift idea to tell Grandpa and Grandma about. Your preschooler will be so excited to receive a box just for them in the mail each month!

LeapReader Junior and LeapReader – Learning to read is enhanced with the LeapReader. This adds a fun component to my preschooler’s learning. She enjoys listening to a story or playing a game. There are ABC and 123 books to add to her school learning. This is also a great activity she can do on her own during quiet time.

Educational Insights The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel Game – In this game your squirrel is very hungry. To help the squirrel, find his acorns spin the spinner and pick up the matching acorn with your Squirrel Squeezer. Using the Squirrel Squeezer is one of the most fun parts of the game for my preschooler. I love that it helps reinforce color recognition, matching skills, and fine motor skills.

Educational Insights offers many fun an engaging preschool games. These are a couple I’m excited to get for my preschooler this Christmas!
Paw Patrol Look a Likes Matching Board Game – Paw patrol is definitely a favorite show for my preschooler. She got this game as a gift for her 3rd birthday and still enjoys playing it. It’s two games in one. You can play the traditional memory matching game or race against an opponent to collect the most matches. Either way it’s a great game to play for improving memory skills.

Usborne Books – These books are very bright and colorful for early readers. All of my kids enjoy looking at and reading any Usborne book. One of our favorite collections is the “That’s Not My…” collection. These collections of books are brightly illustrated with a simple and repetitive story line.
