Take a tour of my cozy Christmas home. The decorations are simple and work for our active family with four kids. Find inspiration and ideas to bring into your home this Christmas.
Welcome to the Cozy Christmas Home Tour. I’m excited to join six other blogging friends to bring you inspiration to decorate your own home this holiday season.
First I’ll take you on a tour of my home and then I’ll send you along on this Cozy Christmas Home Tour.
A Cozy Christmas Home Tour
If you are visiting for the first time, “Welcome!” I’m Amanda Sue and I love to streamline home and life for busy moms. As a work from home mom and homeschooling mom I know how important it is to have routines and systems in place to make running the house go smoothly.
That includes decorating my home. It needs to be pretty but also functional. With four kids (12, 10, 6 and 1 year old), it’s important to me that we can be comfortable in the space we live. I’m sure you agree!
Come on inside and see my simple Christmas decor.

As you enter my home you are immediately greeted with my kids’ Christmas tree.
I let them decorate this tree themselves. They divide the ornaments between the three of them and take turns placing ornaments on the tree.
The bears were a collection of mine from high school and college years. I used to love collecting Boyd’s Bears.
Entry Table
I love to decorate this entry table for each season. It’s one space that is just for decor. It also creates a welcoming feeling when you first walk into my home.
This nativity set was new this year. My old nativity set had so many broken pieces after 10 years. I found this beautiful white nativity set at Target and knew it was the perfect one for my Christmas decor color theme.
Our entryway is small. I have this shoe bench and coat hooks here to keep our items organized.
I added the pillow and some pops of red in this space. Red berry garland surround the front doorway and I also added some picks from Dollar Tree to my metal flower canister.
The Living Room
This Christmas our youngest daughter is one year old. She is into everything! Climbing, grabbing and opening all the things.
I’m on full watch all day long, making sure she stays safe and doesn’t get into things she shouldn’t.
I considered only decorating half of the Christmas tree. After some thought, I decided to try having the Christmas tree fully decorated.
One day down and baby girl has not touched the tree!
My trees color scheme is gold, silver and white. I really love the simplistic feel of these colors. Plus, adding in a little glitter makes it pop.
I’ve always wrapped my tree with ribbon. It can be frustrating trying to get the right length and placement of the ribbon when wrapping.
I follow Brooke from Nesting With Grace on Instagram. She recently shared how she adds ribbon to her Christmas trees. Her idea of cutting the ribbon into strips is genius! Not only does it save on ribbon, it saves time (wrapping and unwrapping the tree until getting the right ribbon placement)!
I’m all about streamlining the process so I took Brooke’s advice and cut my ribbon.
Did you notice the paper sack under the tree? That is our Christmas Book Countdown bag. Every day leading up to Christmas I place a Christmas story into the bag. My kids love this tradition! You can read more about our Christmas book tradition here.
Next to the tree we have our IKEA KALLAX shelf unit. This holds baby toys and school books. I laid a flocked garland across and placed the cute ceramic white houses also.
Normally, I would hang our stockings from the shelf but after placing them my baby girl came and pulled them all down along with the heavy stocking holders. I’ll have to wait till Christmas Eve to put up the stockings this year.
GET THE LOOK
We spend a lot of our time as a family in this space so I made sure it was cozy and comfortable. I love adding pillows and throw blankets as an easy way to change up my home decor.
I decided to keep our end tables clean and clear this year. Baby girl can reach anything on these tables. I put out our Little People Nativity set for her and the basket is filled with Christmas books for all my kiddos to enjoy.
Above the entertainment center is a floating shelf. I don’t have a fireplace or mantel in our Arizona home. This floating shelf is a beautiful alternative.
The wooden Christmas tree set was a DIY that I made last year. The wooden trees were cut by a local maker and then I painted the set.
The Kitchen
Our home has an open room concept. You can see into the kitchen from the living room. I do my best to keep the kitchen counters clean and clear.
A hot chocolate station is set up next to my Keurig. The kids can easily make themselves a warm cup of cocoa.
This metal lantern holds my oil diffuser. When I have it running it looks like smoke is coming out of the chimney. So cute! This is another idea from Brooke at Nesting With Grace.
The kitchen table decor is very functional. We use this table multiple times a day. Not only for eating but also for doing school work.
I found this Magnolia Home metal tool caddy at my local Marshalls store. Inside are paper trees, gold ornaments and gold beaded garland. This caddy is easily movable for when we need to use the table space.
The kitchen island has a bar space that is quite small. We don’t use it often for eating so I added a wooden box with mason jars. I like to add fresh flowers or flower picks to the jars.
