Legos
My son loves to play Minecraft on his Xbox daily. I think creative mode is his favorite to build in. Beyond that my knowledge of Minecraft is limited. My son is the expert, not me. I do know that building is a great way to engage a child’s mind.
My go-to gift for my son is a set of Legos! He never tires of building a new Lego set and likes to create his own build after following the directions. Legos are a boy’s best friend (toy). Now my son can transfer his love of playing the Minecraft Xbox game to crafting and creating his own Minecraft Lego builds.
If you have a Minecraft lover on your Christmas shopping list this year make sure and check out these awesome Minecraft Lego Sets!
Nerf Guns
Nerf Guns can be great fun with a friend. Running around the house and hiding from your opponent. Trying not to be the person hit first with a dart.
My son likes to set up a target practice range. He lines up plastic army men to shoot and works on his aim. He also likes to sneak up on his sisters and Mom and strike when they aren’t looking. 😛
Circuit Building
Do you know a boy who likes to figure out how things work? There are a few different types of circuit building sets on the market. We have used Snap Circuits and littleBits.
Snap Circuits have a great novice set that is affordably priced. It’s fun to watch your son build a circuit and turn on a fan or create music.
The littleBits kits are more advanced but you can add to the sets and build hundreds of different circuit combinations! It’s an investment in creativity for your boy!
Magazine Subscription
Is there a favorite hobby the boy on your list is interested in? A magazine subscription is a great gift that gives all year long! Here are a few magazines my son enjoys reading:
Sports Equipment
Encourage boys to get out and be active with some new sports equipment.
Wood Burning Kit
Bring out the creative side and let them craft unique wood art. They can use the wood burning set to make beautiful art or a “Keep Out” sign for their room.

HEXBUG
Don’t want real bugs in your house? Let your boys play with the robot bug. They can build and create tracks for them to zoom through. These are a fun toy for boys to collect. Make sure to grab some extra batteries for the bugs!
Hot Wheels
Hot Wheels are a classic boy toy. Boys can build their own tracks or you can buy track sets to get them started. My son’s favorite Hot Wheel track is a fold-away race track. I love it too because it easily slides under the bed or can be tucked in his closet when not in use.
PLAYMOBIL
PLAYMOBIL toys are a great for imaginative play. Boys can recreate their own life with the figures or slip into a different role as pirate, knight or a construction worker.
Books
For some great quiet time give your boy a set of fun books. One popular books series my son enjoys is Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
This boy’s gift guide has been pre-approved by my 10 year old son. He said he would love to receive any of the gifts on this list!
Make sure to pin this list to reference later!

These are wonderful gift ideas, Amanda! Perhaps my favorite are the Snap Circuits. Both my son and daughter have a set and they LOVE them! I must admit…I do too!
