Growing up in Washington I loved to join my late Grandma out in her garden each Spring. I was her expert weed puller. I remember all the beautiful tulips, daffodils, iris and hyacinth flowers that covered her backyard garden.
She also had a rock collection in her garden bed and intertwined between the rocks were little hen and chick succulents.
Grandma liked to share. I remember her kitchen window would be lined with plastic cups containing hen and chick succulent clippings. She loved to share her love of gardening with her friends, family and coworkers by gifting them a succulent plant.
