Record memories from the school year by giving your child an end of the school year interview. This is a fun way to reflect back over the school year and also create a keepsake for them to look back on when they are older.
In just a few short weeks your kids and you will be celebrating the end of the school year. And the end of this school year needs to go out with a bang.
Most likely you were your child’s teacher for the last 2+ months and you’re just as excited as they are for all that hard work to be over!
If you are reading this blog post at a later date, this was written during the global coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic. We are all staying home and practicing social distancing in order to slow the spread of the virus. Some parts of the world are under quarantine.
Stepping into summer is a time to celebrate but also a chance to reflect back on the school year and remember the achievements and memories that your child made.
I’ve teamed up with a couple of blogging friends to bring you some fun ideas for how you can make the end of the school year extra special!

Giving your child an end of the school year interview is a fun way to record their favorite memories and also create a keepsake for them to look back on when they are older.
At our house I have a folder I keep of my favorite school papers in for each kiddo. I’ll now be adding this end of the school year interview to it.
End of School Year Interview Printable
My kiddos had fun filling out their interview page. I got out their All About Me pages from the first day of school so we could compare how their interests have changed over the school year.
There were a few changes in favorite foods, movies and books for each kiddo.
If your child is old enough to write by themselves, have them fill it out on their own. It’s fun to see the improvement in handwriting compared to the beginning of the school year.

Basic Info
First things first, have your child record their name, age, grade and teacher(s)!
Fun Favorites
Kids love to share their favorite things. I’ve made sure to include space to record their favorite teacher, class, friend, book, movie and more!
Achievements
Make sure to remember the achievements your kiddo accomplished during the school year. Have them write in their most memorable one and their best grade.
Picture
This printable includes a space for a last day of school picture. Most of us take a first day of school picture but may forget the last day of school.
Adding the picture will be a fun keepsake to look back at. Kids change so much even over the summer!
Looking Forward
Lastly get them thinking ahead to what they may be looking forward to this summer. It’s interesting to see what answers they will have for the upcoming summer break.
I think your kiddos and you will enjoy having this keepsake page to look back on at the start of the next school year.
