Decorating for fall doesn’t need to include a pumpkin patch 😉 You can create a simple fall entryway that looks amazing. Use these tips to style your entryway for fall and grab your free printable fall art!
Welcome Fall! This past weekend I had fun getting out all the pumpkins and fall decor. Fall is my favorite season. Even though I live in the desert I like to bring all the fall feels into my home and dream of leaves and cooler weather.
Start With A Blank Space
The first step before you style your entryway is to start with a clean slate. Clear off your entry table space and remove all decor items.
Wipe down and dust the shelves. Do you have a mirror in your entry space? Make sure to wipe it down also.
Get Out Your Decor
Bring all your fall decor items out. You may not remember what you already have stored away.
Try “shopping” your home for items. You may have a candle holder or wooden tray you can re-purpose as decor.
Last year I had many orange faux pumpkins but wanted to change up my color scheme. Instead of just trashing the pumpkins I decide to do a quick DIY and painted the pumpkins using chalk paint.

Don’t head to the store to shop until you have taken inventory of items that you already own. This step will save you time and money!
Pick Color Scheme and Group Items
Once you are looking at all your items pick a color scheme. Try choosing three main colors to work with. Choosing a color scheme helps to make the look polished and tied together. My main fall entry colors are green, white and grey.
Group like decor items together. Make a pile of pumpkins, greenery, candle holders, signs and wreaths.
Styling
You are ready for the fun part, styling your entryway space. Here is where you get to play around with all the decor pieces you collected from around your home.
- Focal Point– I like to start with a focal point. Decide which decor piece you would like to be at the center of your space? The focal point in my entry is the mirror. I added a faux berry garland at the top and have a chalk board sign hanging down in the middle.
- Add Tall Objects On Ends– Give some height to the space by adding tall objects on the ends of the entry table. Adding taller objects on the ends help visually keep the eyes on your focal point.
- Fill In The Middle– Now start to add items to the middle. Create layers by adding in multiple items grouped together. I placed a group of pumpkins together in front of my tall candle holder. Then added in the framed printable art along with a strand of wooden beads.
Take a step back and look at your set-up. See if you like it or want to rearrange items or add more items to the space. You get to decide how much or how little decor you use in your entryway!
These tips are good guidelines to use and I hope that breaking it down into steps will help you to style your fall entryway simply.
