Enjoy the fall season with your family. I have a fall bucket list of fun ideas for you to create meaningful memories this year. *Updated for 2023*

Everyone has a favorite season. Mine happens to be fall. I love when the hot summers in the desert give way to cool mornings and by the end of October I can enjoy temperatures in the 70’s.

Of course I do miss the changing color of the leaves and the raindrops from my birthplace of Washington state. But I have found many reasons for fall to still be my most favorite of all even in the desert.

After living in the Arizona desert for over 18 years I have found some fun activities to do with my family during the fall season. And these are ideas you can do with your family too- no matter where you call home!

20 Family Fall Bucket List Activities

1. Apple Picking

The Best Apple Themed Books For Kids, apple theme, apple books, preschool apple theme, apple unit,

Willcox, AZ is home to our favorite apple orchard. Apple Annies has more than just apples in their fruit orchards.

We love going to the orchard and picking different varieties of apples to bring home and try. It’s also a very educational activity for littles and bigger kiddos.

2. Read Apple Books

After your family trip to the apple orchard, grab some library books and learn even more about apples. Check out our favorite apple books here.

3. Make A Bonfire

4. Roast Marshmallows

This is an inexpensive family night!

5. Visit A Corn Maze

Work together as a family to complete the maze or split into teams and see who can complete the maze the fastest.

6. Bake Something Pumpkin

I have the perfect pumpkin spice bar recipe here!

7. Serve A Batch of Chili

Invite family and friends over for a meal and make this easy and yummy crockpot chili recipe.

Host a pumpkin carving (or painting for the littles) contest with friends.

11. Roast Pumpkin Seeds

12. Make Apple Nachos

Carmel apples are so yummy but can be quite hard for littles to eat. Try out this Apple Nacho recipe from my friend Erin at Simple Purposeful Living.

13. Read Pumpkin Books

🍎This weekend we went to one of my favorite pla 🍎This weekend we went to one of my favorite places to conclude my birthday celebrations. @apple_annies is such a fun family activity and everyone always finds their perfect pumpkin.
.
Honestly, we debated going this year as the cost of gas is higher right now. It's a 2 hour drive for us. But my hubby knows how much I enjoy going. It's my little taste of fall in the desert.
.
So we made it happen by cutting out a few things like:
▪️packing our own lunches & snacks
▪️walking instead of taking the tractor ride
▪️only buying one pumpkin each
▪️taking a family picture in the apple orchard, but not picking apples
.
Even though we didn't do "all the things" at the orchard this time we made the best memories. It's about having fun with those we love and care about, no matter how small or simple.
