This cute DIY Hot Chocolate Gift basket is a thoughtful gift for friends, neighbors or teachers. It’s also an inexpensive gift basket to make. Add in a homemade chocolate spoons to make it even more personalized!
When the weather gets cold I like to drink a warm beverage. Hot chocolate is one of my favorite warm drinks to have and serve to guests.
I picture myself with a mug filled with hot cocoa and marshmallows, music is playing in the background.
“Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”
Doesn’t that sound cozy and warm?!
I thought a hot chocolate gift basket would be perfect to share with friends and neighbors this Christmas. How cute is this sleigh basket!? I purchased the sleigh from Target’s Dollar Spot last Christmas season.

This basket is filled with everything a person needs to have a yummy cup of hot cocoa.
STEP 1 // A cup of cocoa wouldn’t be complete without marshmallows. I found the glass jar at Dollar Tree and knew it would be perfect for the marshmallows. I also picked up a gold glass writing pen from Dollar Tree so I could label the jar. The pen is washable so the recipient can wash and reuse the jar!
STEP 2 // Next I added a cute Christmas mug. This mug was found at my local Marshall’s store. They have such a great selection of mugs to choose from. You are sure to find just the right mug for your gift basket.
STEP 3 // Lastly I wanted to add some personal touches and fun extras to the Hot Chocolate Gift Basket.
I placed a few peppermint candy canes into the mug along with the hot chocolate packets. Next I tucked a homemade wood slice ornament beside the mug. You can make your own ornaments by following the tutorial here.
For extra chocolaty sweetness I made some chocolate spoons for stirring and placed several into the gift basket.
