These easy DIY Farmhouse Valentine’s Day Signs are a beautiful piece to add to your Valentine’s Day home decor. You can complete this DIY project with items from the Dollar Tree.
The inspiration for this DIY Valentines Heart Sign came from an item I saw in the Dollar Spot at Target.
It was a $3 dollar heart sign made from a plastic frame and chipboard hearts.
I really thought it was a cute sign, but it looked cheap. I thought “If this sign was made of wood I would totally buy it”.
Of course I had to try and recreate this sign and Dollar Tree was the place to check for my supplies.
I wanted to make this sign look beautiful. I knew I needed wood hearts to create it. Dollar Tree had the perfect wood hearts and they even had foam stickers attached to them.

I found one 5×7 wood pallet frame on clearance at Marshalls and I also used another 5×7 wood frame and 4×6 red frame I already had at home.
Now that I had my supplies it was time to DIY this sign!
Here’s What You will Need to make these DIY Farmhouse Valentine’s Day Signs
- 3-4 packages of wood heart stickers ( I found mine at Dollar Tree)
- 1-3 wood frames of your choice (I recommend 5×7 or 4×6 in size)
- 1 piece white cardstock paper
- 1 piece pink cardstock paper
- Foam adhesive squares or glue gun
Tutorial
Begin by cutting your card stock down to size. If your frame has a piece of glass remove the glass.
Insert the card stock into the picture frame.
Next decide the layout of the wood hearts you would like in your frame.
I made 4 rows of 3 wood hearts on my first frame. In my first layout I had one row of all pink hearts.
Then I flipped two of the pink hearts to the plain side. I liked the look of only having one colored heart on the frame just like the sign I saw at Target.
Play around with the layout of the wood hearts and design it anyway you like best!
For the second wood frame I used pink card stock and attached the wood hearts.
I found that the adhesive on the hearts was not sticky enough to hold the hearts to the paper and had to go back later and add foam adhesive squares to secure the hearts to the paper.
You could also remove the sticker and use a hot glue gun to adhere the heart to the paper or frame.
The third frame is a traditional Valentine red. I think I got it in the Target Dollar Spot a couple years ago.
For this frame I used a white card stock background. I made a couple different heart layouts and kept the three arrow layout for my home decor.
Lastly display your new heart signs!
These Farmhouse Heart Valentine’s Day Signs were so easy and simple to make and they look beautiful!
Enjoy creating your own heart signs to add to your Valentine’s Day home decor.
