Summer is officially here! This time of year brings delicious produce to the supermarkets. In my hometown of Marysville, WA, June is when the strawberry stands start to open up around town. You can visit your local strawberry patch and pick your own flat of fresh sweet strawberries. We even celebrate with an annual Strawberry Festival Parade.
My Mom always loved going to the strawberry stand in the summer. We would buy a flat of strawberries to bring home. Next the afternoon was spent washing and then freezing them to use later for recipes.
With all the abundance of super fresh affordable strawberries, I now like to buy them in bulk every summer. I will wash and hull them. Then I will freeze the strawberries. It’s so easy to stock up on fresh strawberries in the summer and then enjoy them in recipes for months after the strawberry season ends.
During these super hot summer months in Arizona the kids and I love to have a nice cool treat. I wanted to create a sweet berry treat that would also be somewhat healthy. This recipe was well received by my kids and only uses 5 ingredients!
You will need:
- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup milk (I used 1%)
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp 100% pure maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Place frozen strawberries in blender then add in the milk, yogurt, maple syrup and vanilla extract.
Blend until smooth. Your blended mixture should look like this picture. If it is too thick, add a little more milk until smooth.

Place into popsicle molds of your choice. I like these silicone popsicle molds. They are easy to use and clean. My kids have an easy time using them and they remove the drip mess associated with regular popsicle sticks. Less mess is always a plus for me!
Next put your popsicle molds into the freezer for 4-5 hours. I store my silicone popsicle molds in a plastic cup in the freezer.
Enjoy your yummy refreshing Strawberries and Cream Popsicle!

Katie, they are delicious! Do you have a different use for the silicone molds?! I’ve only ever used them for popsicles.
