DIY Cookies In A Jar

Share a sweet treat with cookies in a jar. This is a great gift to give to friends, neighbors and teachers.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup + 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 6 tbsp brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups Christmas M&M's

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Making The Jar

  1. Place the flour in the jar first. Tap the jar gently on the table to help the flour “settle” in the bottom. You can also pat the flour down with the back of a spoon.

  2. Sprinkle the salt and baking soda on top of the flour.

  3. Add the brown sugar and gently pat it down with a spoon or spatula.

  4. Add granulated sugar. Spread evenly over the top of the brown sugar to continue the layered look.

  5. Last, add the Christmas colored M&M’s.

Making The Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat

  2. Beat butter, egg and vanilla in large bowl until blended.

  3. Drop in mason jar contents. Mix Well.

  4. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. Cool on baking sheet for 2 min then move to wore racks to completely cool.

Recipe Notes

If you don’t have M&M’s you can use chocolate chips.
